Known primarily for his poetry of social protest Chicano poet Alurista moves in a new direction in Z Eros, which includes both erotic and political poetry. Moving rapidly between Spanish and English, he introduces readers to a language and a world that exists somewhere between the two cultures and voices. About half of this book is in English and the rest in Spanish.

In as our barrio turns...who the yoke b on, alurista poet-filetero filosofo snaps shots of his singular history in wickedly funny, blashemous travelogues through his yourth and activist days. He twists our tongues in the vernacular that we as Chicano Mexicanos find snugly familiar and exhilarating.
