The palindromic title of Brazilian artist Carla Zaccagnini's no, it is opposition. hints at its conceptual structure, which she describes as forking paths and crossroads. The book documents an exhibition which the viewer enters twice, encountering the same work again, but differently. The exhibition catalogue reflects the palindromic nature of the exhibition, mirroring itself and the exhibition in both structure and form.

This volume brings together a selection of papers presented at an international conference on Translation Studies in Barcelona in 1998. The papers illustrate four areas that are of particular interest in translation research today in Europe, Asia and Latin America. The purpose of the first section, 'Investigating Translation Paradigms', is to reach a critical revision of existing paradigms and to develop new ones in approaching the translated text. The manuscripts were begun in Milan while Leonardo da Vinci was in the service of Ludovico Sforza. He continued the work during the last 25 years of the artist's life. The works were subsequently published in the collection and based on Leon Battista Alberti and Cennino Cennini. After Leonardo's death, those notebooks passed into the hands of his pupil and heir Francesco Melzi, and he published them later. It was a task of overwhelming difficulty due to its scope and Leonardo's idiosyncratic writing.
