Con las madres en duelo, la pasión prorrumpe en la ciudad: en el dolor de una madre siempre amenaza el exceso. Como respuesta al llanto de las mujeres, la política de los hombres griegos prescribe un rito funerario de límites estrictos para la emoción. Mas, en el escenario trágico, donde el duelo materno se transforma en actos, Clitemnestra asesina a Agamenón para vengar a Ifigenia. Las mujeres dan miedo a los hombres.

Narra la fundación de México-Tenochtitlan en 1325, en una pequeña isla en medio del lago de Texcoco que llegó a ser la sede del imperio azteca, uno de los más poderosos de Mesoamérica; que con su poderío militar sometió a casi todas las naciones indígenas de su entorno y los obligó a rendir tributo. La capital azteca fue conquistada en 1519, por los españoles al mando de Hernán Cortés.
