Sinopsis del Libro

El libro recoge 86 láminas facsimilares de documentos originales del Archivo Ducal de Medinaceli (Sevilla), Archivo Histórico Nacional (Madrid), Archivo de la Catedral de León y Archivo Diocesano de León. En esas láminas se ha pretendido seguir, con textos claros para el ojo dentro de la normal dificultad de la escritura paleográfica, la secuencia histórica de las formas de la escritura en España desde la alta Edad Media, hasta el reinado de Luis I, desde la visigótica hasta la humanística cursiva. A las láminas acompañan las transcripciones paleoGráficas exactas y por renglones señalados, con las abreviaturas marcadas en cursiva desarrolladas, y es precedido de una breve historia de la escritura latina, de los soportes documentales, y del contenido de sus documentos.
