Sinopsis del Libro

Desde que en 1895 los hermanos Lumière proyectaran sus primeros films en el Salón Indiano del Gran Café del Boulevard des Capucines de París, la comida como temática y la cocina como espacio han sido elementos fundamentales en infinidad de películas. De hecho, la comida siempre ha sido un elemento recurrente del atrezo cinematográfico en los casi 130 años de audiovisual, y ha ido adquiriendo progresivamente un estatus y una presencia notoria en infinidad de cintas. Desde hace varias décadas, disfrutar de un plato o prepararlo se han convertido en ingredientes principales para multitud de relatos cinematográficos firmados por autores como Luis Buñuel, Federico Fellini, Claude Chabrol, Martin Scorsese, Agnès Varda, Pedro Almodóvar, Nora Ephron, Wong Kar-wai o Quentin Tarantino. A lo largo de este libro se hace un recorrido por la historia gastrofílmica del cine y se analizan medio centenar de títulos que abarcan diferentes geografías y en los que la trama está marcada por lo culinario. La elaboración de platos, las reuniones y actos sociales, los recuerdos y tradiciones que se exhiben en los films estimulan el apetito y empujan a los espectadores a buscar otras sensibilidades y otras formas de comunicarse sensorialmente a través de las texturas y sabores proyectados.
