We propose a study of selected texts by the French sociologist Gilles Lipovetsky. We will analyze some of the key texts of this author, namely: from "Paradoxical happiness (essay on consumer society)", chapter 4 and "The empire of the ephemeral", chapters 4 and 5. In addition, the texts "Private space and public space in the postmodern era" and "Private space and the revolution of autonomy".

Many people who live in the city do not have space for gardens. But they still want the fresh food, flowers, and herbs that come from a garden. So, they plant gardens in pots or planters. Sometimes they form a team and find an empty lot to plant their gardens in. People use patterns to plan how best to use their space.
