Sinopsis del Libro

El presente tomo abarca la existencia, persistencia y posible crecimiento del voseo a lo largo de gran parte del continente americano. El voseo es un tema de creciente interés académico: habiendo sido marcado como coloquial e inapropiado, vive un renacimiento en el siglo XXI. Hace medio siglo se predecía que el voseo dejaría de emplearse; hoy en día no sólo no desaparece, sino crece en varios casos. En esta colección de estudios, entendemos por qué es importante el voseo y por qué sigue vigente en el habla actual. Vos implica cercanía en la comunicación; refleja valores sociales; marca culturalmente a los hablantes que lo utilizan; y provoca conversaciones sobre su papel en la educación formal, lo cual antes ni se consideraba. Los estudios del voseo en Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, México y Uruguay en que consiste esta colección, junto con un estudio histórico de sus orígenes, brindan luz, homenaje y comprensión sobre esta forma de tratamiento que es tan antigua como es moderna en Hispanoamérica.
