Sinopsis del Libro

Zoé Oldenbourg (1916-2002) llegó a Francia huyendo de la revolución bolchevique y es autora de una amplia obra narrativa y ensayística con la Edad Media, las cruzadas y el catarismo como protagonistas privilegiados. Tras terminar durante la segunda guerra mundial Barro y cenizas (1944), saltó a la fama internacional al conseguir el Premio Fémina con la novela La piedra amgular (1953), a la que siguieron Los Quemados (1960) y Las ciudades carnales (1961). Es autora también de dos obras dramáticas situadas en la Edad Media, L ́évêque et la vieille dame ou la belle-mère de Peytaví Borsier (1983) y Alienor (1992). Entre sus ensayos destacan su aportación definitiva al estudio del catarismo, La hoguera de Montsegur, Catherine de Russie (1966) y el amplio y riguroso estudio Las cruzadas.
