Sinopsis del Libro

La presente publicación responde a una demanda de reflexión crítica en torno al lugar de la ciudad, su planificación, arquitectura y entorno sociocultural. La propuesta narrativa, señalada en anteriores publicaciones: Los axiomas del crepúsculo (1990), esplendor y fragmento (1995), Las primaveras de ilion (2010)… responde a una valoración crítica modesta en sus pretensiones historiográficas, ampliada en algunos apartados como crítica sociocultural que somete a consideración, desde la mirada del superviviente, el discurrir de la arquitectura en la heterogénea disciplina de la construcción del «locus civitatis» y en la no menos compleja transición de la ciudad a la metrópoli, ya manifiesta desde que los epígonos de las vanguardias entregaron en prendas formales los decorados de la derrota de aquellos reductos de una racionalidad astutamente emparentada con un positivismo tecnocrático, y cómo los espacios y lugares de la ciudad por los que discurría su madurez se han ido transformando, en buena parte, en sublimes metáforas digitales; un lenguaje donde la sagacidad de sus signos cobra una dimensión más importante que el hombre que habla, un lenguaje más apropiado a los recursos del intérprete que a los rasgos racionales del creador; un conjunto de metonimias espaciales en acelerada metamorfosis que trasforma los limites imprecisos de aquellos proyectos que se formulaban como ciudad moderna, y lo hace ahora bajo los presupuestos de una inteligencia social de operativa metodología colectiva, que permite acercarse a las geografías del ciberespacio y donde el proyecto vital de este nómada digital solo puede navegar por el archipiélago deconstruido en simulados fragmentos de costosa vigencia estética, formalismo neoliberal cobijado bajo los soliloquios del posmodernismo
