This collection was designed and developed by Graciela Repun and Florence Esses to accompany children in the early learning stages, with emphasis not only on the basics of shapes, sizes, numbers, opposites, positions and colors, but also in rhyme, poetry, and the visual richness of the illustrations.

When asked to deliver contraband papers to her native island home of Cuba in 1852, twenty-year-old Emilia Casanova gulped audibly in a most unladylike manner.
