Description of historic facts about Mexico after becoming independent from the influence of Spain. The struggle for creating an identity for a nation that had born in the middle of political crisis due to foreing intervention and local revolutions.

Macanaz Memorialista constituye un acercamiento a la figura de Melchor Rafael de Macanaz a partir de su, hasta ahora, desconocida vertiente de memorialista. Además, el estudio crítico del primer tomo de sus Memorias para la Historia (1700-1703) sirve como excusa argumentativa para un análisis comparativo, con el empleo de fuentes coetáneas, de los primeros años del siglo XVIII en España y en Europa.
