Sorolla

Sinopsis del Libro

Libro Sorolla

Since the Foundation of The Hispanic Society of America in 1904 by Archer M. Huntington (1870-1955), there has never been an artist so closely related to his famous art collection as Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida (1863-1923). The doors of the Hispanic society had only been open for only a few months when Huntington discovered the work of Sorolla, who at the time was exhibiting at Grafton Galleries. Huntington had found in Sorolla an artist that shared the same love for Spain, its villages and habits; that is why he began organizing the exhibition that would take place a year later. They worked together day and night to prepare the exhibition that would open up on February 4th, 1909. It was right then when a great friendship begun. The exhibition was a great success and Huntington was granted the opportunity to obtain some of the most significant works of Sorolla, taking this opportunity to entrust him to paint a series of big historical paintings that would display a wide panorama of Spain and Portugal. In this book, published for the first time, is the complete collection of the works from Sorolla at the Hispanic Society. Text in English and Spanish."

Kiki Smith

Libro Kiki Smith

The Joan Miro Foundation presents "Her Memory," an exhibition by Kiki Smith organised in collaboration with the Museum Haus Esters in Krefeld and the Kunsthalle Nrnberg, containing recent work by this US artist. It could in fact be called an exhibition in progress, since it has been amplified in each venue anterior to the exhibition presented in the Foundation, which is the last location of this tour. Kiki Smith was born in Nrnberg in 1954 to an artistic family: her mother an opera singer and her father Minimalist artist Tony Smith. Her work is characterised by a constant reflection on human...

Libro Bibliografía cronológica de la lingüística, la gramática y la lexicografía del español (BICRES III)

Since the publication of the still very valuable Biblioteca histórica de la filología by Cipriano Muñoz y Manzano, conde de la Viñaza (Madrid, 1893), our knowledge of the history of the study of the Spanish language has grown considerably. It has been the purpose of BICRES I (from the early beginnings to 1600), published in 1994, to bring together already available bibliographical information with the more recent research findings, scattered in many places, books and articles and published during the past one hundred years. BICRES II (covering the 1601–1700 period) followed in 1999....

Libro Maldito Infierno
