Gastón Lelarge nació en Francia en 1861 y llegó a Colombia en 1890. En Colombia, él era responsable de muchos trabajos importantes arquitectónicos (más de 40) principalmente en Bogotá y Cartagena. Entre los más reconocidos estan: la Capilla de las Hermanas de la Caridad de la Presentación, el Palacio Echeverri y el edificio de Hernández, Palacios de la Gobernación y Club Municipal Cartagena.
